Pain is Silent

The pain and brokenness we experience may be the shadows that reside, the darkness we have tasted. Because we know what pain looks like, we are pierced when rays of love peak through here and there. Glimpses of it make us fall apart in wonder, praise, and peace. In the most intricate ways, light decides to land upon our scarred skin and we catch it in silent eagerness. The shadows have taught us the quiet joy of light flickering through leaves, lines, angles, flesh, spirit, all unto different sore spots that need healing, daze, comfort. Yet there is a constant battle to stay in the light. We must always remind ourselves that rather than drowning in darkness or having full exposure to sun, what we need is arms of love extending through darkness in gentle glory.
